BLACK ROCK STATE PARK

Nelson’s Family Campground has been owned and operated by the Gustine family since 1964. The campground is located on 175 scenic acres in the heart of central Connecticut. Each year, thousands of families find their way to Nelson’s to join us for loads of fun activities, visiting many nearby attractions, and just kicking back and escaping. The campground is open from mid-April to mid-October, a common season for most campgrounds in Connecticut. Seasonal campers make up most of the park, but weekend visitors are always welcome. Although close together, many of the sites are enclosed by beautiful tall trees which make them feel more secluded and uncrowded. Cozy Hills is a campsite located in Bantam, near Litchfield, CT. Because of the vast number of amenities it offers, Cozy Hills is one of the most popular long term RV parks in Connecticut. The Salt Rock State Park Campground will be open for the 2020 season, from May 22 through October 11 (daily).

HORSE CAMP AREAS

The following campgrounds have been designed exclusively for equestrian use. Open April 10, close on Thanksgiving. Available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Camping is offered for riders who can provide their own mounts. Horse rentals are not available.

NATCHAUG STATE FOREST

Camping

Walk-in campers will not be permitted for the 2020 season. All campers must make reservations in advance of their stay. Reservations must include the names of all campers. Visitors to campsites will not be permitted, only registered campers will be permitted in the campground. River Camping is closed for the 2020 season.
